Meet the team

We believe that at the centre of high quality early years provision is the team that work with our children and families. This starts with recruiting people that share our vision and values but we also place a large emphasis on ongoing support and training.

Katie — Founder

Katie has always been passionate about children’s early education and studied for an Early Years Education degree at Warwick University before completing her PGCE. Since becoming a teacher, Katie has taught, led and managed a range of Early Years and Primary School settings, and before setting up The Nurture Room worked as a Headteacher of a Warwickshire Primary School.

Rosie — Founder

Rosie is a qualified teacher having taught in London and Coventry, training through the Teach First programme. Before setting up The Nurture Room Rosie worked at Teach First and Ambition Institute thinking hard about how adults and children learn best and what this means for teachers. She has used this knowledge to develop national teacher training programmes for teachers new to the profession and also for those more experienced.

As a newly qualified teacher she spent her first year of teaching completing her BTEC forest school qualification and spent eight years teaching at a nursery school in Birmingham. Now married and a parent to two girls, Tara has worked more locally across a variety of settings combining her passion for outdoor learning with early years practice.

With experience working as a nanny and in nurseries, Emily is passionate about creating warm, calm environments where children can flourish. She has a particular interest in Waldorf-inspired and nature-based learning, and loves developing Forest School activities to explore with her own children at home. Outdoor play and the wonder of the natural world are central to Emily's approach, and she is excited to bring this joy to The Nurture Room.
