Manager at The Nurture Room

Purpose

To lead and manage the early education, care & provision for the children based at The Nurture Room in keeping with our vision, missions & values.

We achieve all of this through high staff to children ratios, a focus on hiring well qualified and experienced team members and team training to support high quality provision.

The Role

  • You will work closely with the co-founders of The Nurture Room, Katie & Rosie to lead the provision at The Nurture Room
  • You will be supported by two experienced room leads who run the rooms, plan and lead the assessment of the children, a DSL and SENDCO who leads on these areas across the provision and a team of educators
  • You will begin your day at 8:15am for the children to arrive at 8.45am. The children will leave at 3:15pm, will you leave by 4:45pm. Occasional evenings/weekend work will be required for parent partnerships meetings, parent information evenings and open days.
  • You will spend 3-4 days in ratio across the provision and have 1-2 days of PPA for duties including management time with a focus on developing quality provision, line management, business management and time for personal development.
  • Term time only following Warwickshire schools calendar (including 5 INSET days across the academic year which are used for a mixture of training and family engagement)

Salary

£32,000–£37,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • You will ensure that the vision, values and curriculum of The Nurture Room are being enacted for the children and families that we work with
  • You will ensure that the provision on a day to day basis is being delivered to a high standard and working in partnership with the co-founders, you will act on any development or training needs required
  • You will support the room leads to plan for progression, monitor progress of the children and support the room leads to adjust the provision accordingly
  • You will track the progress of vulnerable learners and work with the team to implement interventions as required
  • You will work with the DSL at the setting and use the policies and processes in place to ensure the children of the setting are safeguarded
  • You will support the SENDCo to ensure that quality first teaching is happening across the setting and that where required, the spiral of support is being tightened to support children not making expected progress.
  • You will oversee the health and safety of the environment, dealing with or raising any concerns where appropriate
  • You will manage the team of early years educators, supporting their well-being and professional development and utilize the teams strengths to enhance the provision
  • You will ensure that you and your team work in partnership with families in supportive, informative and creative ways

Benefits

  • You will be paid an annual salary of £32,000-£37,000 per annum depending on experience
  • In addition you will receive a 5% pension contribution from The Nurture Room. You are entitled to up to 5 paid compassionate/family leave days per year and we will provide income protection insurance if you have a long term illness that requires you to be off sick for a longer period of time.
  • You are entitled to take up to 2 weeks additional holiday during term time (this is unpaid) as well as receiving all Warwickshire school holidays.

Requirements

  • You must hold a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ and at least 2 years’ post qualification experience in Early Years (this can be from in a school, nursery or childminding setting)
  • You must display a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils through day to day vigilance and a positive approach to working with children.
  • You must have the desire to want to be an integral part of achieving The Nurture Room vision.
