Early Years Forest School Educator at The Nurture Forest

To support the early education, care & provision for the children based at The Nurture Forest - a brand new Forest School nursery for children aged 2–5 years.

About The Nurture Forest
From September 2026 we will be opening a Forest School nursery. The Early Years Foundation Stage will be taught through the knowledge and skills gained in outdoor learning. To facilitate this there will be a 1:5 staff to children ratio and training the team to deliver high quality forest school learning.
The Role
- You will work closely with our Lead Educators and founders to support the care, learning and development of the children at The Nurture Forest (2–5 years setting)
- You will be part of a team of educators supporting around 15 children per day
- For September 2026 we are looking for a 3 day a week Forest School Educator. Please note there is also the option to add on 2 days in The Nurture Room to make it a full-time post.
- You will begin your day at 8.35am for the children to arrive at 8.45am
- The children will leave at 3.15pm, your day will end at 3:25pm
- The setting is open term time only following Warwickshire schools calendar (including 5 INSET days across the academic year which are used for a mixture of training and family engagement)
- You will be a key worker for around 8 children
Salary
£14.50 per hour including holiday allowance.
Responsibilities
- For all children you will support them with their learning and development in line with the The Nurture Forest approach and curriculum and the child’s interests and next steps
- For your key children you will be particularly responsible for supporting them to settle, getting to know them as individuals, tracking their progress and development and working in partnership with families
- Supporting the care needs of children including nappy changing and toileting, basic personal hygiene such as handwashing and administering basic first aid if required (if you are not already you will be Paediatric First Aid trained)
- Supporting the set up of the resources and following risk assessment procedures to keep the setting safe for children and adults
- Lead the adult led aspects of the day
- In partnership with the leadership team, be proactive in identifying the training needs for yourself or the wider setting
- Following the settings policies and procedures in regard to safeguarding, family communication and interacting and supporting the children
Benefits
- You will be paid £14.50 per hour inclusive of holiday pay
- In addition you will receive a 5% pension contribution from The Nurture Forest
- You are entitled to up to 5 paid compassionate/family leave days per year
- You are entitled to take up to 2 weeks additional holiday during term time (this is unpaid) as well as receiving all Warwickshire school holidays

Requirements
- You will hold a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ and at least 2 years’ experience in Early Years (this can be from in a school, nursery or childminding setting)
- You will be passionate about Forest School, Outdoor Learning and the Early Years
- You will be a supportive team member both for the leadership and other team members
- You must display a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils through day-to-day vigilance and a positive approach to working with children
- You must have the desire to want to be an integral part of achieving The Nurture Forest vision
- It is not a requirement but we welcome applications from anyone with a Level 3 Forest School qualification, or have experience of running forest school sessions with the the willingness to complete your Level 3 or Forest School Assistant qualification
